1. JOHN 'SUPERTRAMP' HELLIWELL PLAYS WITH GONZALO'S TRAMPS

Recently on September 4th at the Victoria Hall in Settle, North Yorkshire, the Logical Tramps - a 'Supertramp tribute band' featuring keyboardist Gonzalo - had the pleasure of original Supertramp saxophonist, John Helliwell, join them on stage for that well-known little ditty, 'The Logical Song'. When asked what he thought of the sax-man 'getting down' with the tramps, Gonzalo said, "...This was an unbelievable honour for us and a great endorsement for the band. We've actually had some very encouraging comments from John and also (ex-Supertrampers) Rodger Hodgson and Carl Verheyen...".
One of Gonzalo's other activities sees him appearing at the Greenwich Jazz Festival in London on 24th September with jazz-rock band, Infusion.

2. DAVE WAGSTAFFE WITH OLIVER WAKEMAN AT THE CRS

Drummer Dave Wagstaffe will be at the Classic Rock Society's Herringthorpe Leisure Centre venue in Rotherham this very weekend (Saturday 18th Sept) when the Oliver Wakeman band headline. Support is from Eric Norlander and Lana Lane. Tickets for this gig are £12.00 for members and £15.00 non-members.
Of course, Dave will return only a short time after when his 'other outfit', Landmarq, play the CRS' other venue, the Oakwood School/Centre, on Saturday 2nd October.

3. SYN ALBUM CHRIS SQUIRE INTERVIEW

On a loosely-related topic, which involved bassist Steve Gee's work earlier this year with Peter Banks and original members of The Syn, the bands company Syn Music are pre-releasing a special YesServices edition of their much acclaimed archive album Original Syn. The special edition will include a bonus CD of a soon to be recorded Chris Squire interview, with questions submitted by fans to the YesServices website. It will also include a new epic style Syn recording of the Yes song, Time and a Word, as a bonus track, plus a full size 20 page colour booklet charting the history of the band.
