This disk can cause the same [euphoric] enthusiasm, as one year ago Final Conflict did with their album "Stand Up". Some pieces are very Floydian and, partially, one has borrowed also slightly from existing material. Though that actually bothers nobody. Or maybe? No, probably not, as the disk contains sufficiently individual Musical potential to not become a copy. Naturally different influences are also clearly audible as e.g. [Genesis] or [Marillion].
The long pieces like "The Overlook", "Lighthouse", "The Vision Pit" shows the complete band-width of Landmarq's musical proficiency.
Specifically the new singer Tracy Hitchings, who also already with Pendragon, Gandalf and Clive Nolan's "Strangers On A Train" together has worked, I might accentuate. She can convince with her smooth and effortless husky voice fully and completely.
You can get a first impression yourselves already by that in the booklet of enclosed Sysyphus Sampler-CD -(?)-. This should actually convince you and cause an automatic purchase.

(Diese Scheibe könnte die selbe euphorische Begeisterung auslösen, wie vor einem Jahr Final Conflict mit ihrem album "Stand Up". Viele der Stücke sind sehr floydig angelegt, und teilweise hat man sich auch etwas an vorhandenem Material Ausgeliehen. Aber das stört doch eigentlich niemanden. Oder doch? Nein, wahrscheinlich nicht, den die Platte enthält genug eigenes Musikalisches Potential um nicht als Kopie abgestempelt zu werden. Natürlich sind auch andere Einflüsse deutlich hörbar wie z.B. Genesis oder Marillion.
Die Langen Stücke wie "The Overlook", "Lighthouse", "The Vision Pit" zeigen die komplette Bandbreite von Landmarq's Musikalischem Können.
Speziell die neue Sängerin Tracy Hitchings, die auch schon mit Pendragon, Gandalf und Clive Nolan's "Strangers On A Train" zusammen gearbeitet hat, möchte ich hervorheben. Sie kann mit ihrer ruhigen und leicht heiseren Stimme voll und ganz überzeugen.
Einen ersten Eindruck könnt ihr euch ja schon mal auf der im Heft beiliegenden Sysyphus Sampler-CD holen. Müßte eigentlich überzeugen und einen automatischen Kaufzwang auslösen.)
