Gig Report - Milan, Italy (1st July 2000)...

Landmarq went out to play with their friends with a gig in Milan, Italy. This was new territory for the band and all reports so far have been extremely favourable. Songs performed were Landmarq's usual mix of old and new material which included epics such as 'Lighthouse', 'The Overlook' and 'The Vision Pit'; plus 'foot-stompers' such as 'Science Of Coincidence' and 'Summer Madness' which included the now-familiar band introductions along with a tremendous drum solo from Dave wagstaff. The full set list can be seen on the Milan photo page.
The band look forward to returning to Italy for more shows in the future.
Also on the bill were old mates Jadis and 'new mates' Cast who, with family members and friends in tow, flew over from Mexico for a string of European gigs. (Hola, guys!).
The concert was organised by ASSOCIAZIONE CULTURALE AREA ROCK who are based in Milan and are working hard to promote Landmarq and Prog-rock in general in Italy.
We have a collection of photos taken before during and after the show which will give a small indication as to what a bunch of lunatics(!) some of these folks are. Needless to say this was a Fun (with a capital 'F') weekend.

Rehearsal showcase...

On the evening of Tuesday 27th June, Landmarq opened the doors of one of their regular rehearsal studios in London to a small number of invited guests that were contacted through the LENL mailing list.
The 'gig' was by way of a prequel to the bands show in Milan on the following weekend, giving them a chance to iron out any last-minute creases and giving the visitors a rare chance to see the band in a far more casual mode.
Singer Tracy said, "This is not meant to be a 'real gig' as such; it is a rehearsal studio, after all, and we couldn't get that many people in anyhow. All the same it was very enjoyable".
The evening was a great success and it's possible the band may consider another 'showcase' in the future.

ProgDay 2000, USA (October)
At last, Landmarq will be making it's way across the 'Big Pond' to the USofA to perform at the only outdoor Progressive rock festival in North America - otherwise known as ProgDay 2000.
So far, we can tell you that this will be the weekend of 7th/8th October with Landmarq performing at some point on the Saturday.
The venue is called 'Storybook Farm' and is set amidst the beautiful greenery of North Carolina in what is a truly idyllic setting. It promises to be a weekend of great fun and great music. The festival is the idea of (and mainly organised by) it's 'benevolent benefactor' Peter Renfro.
You will find further info (full line-up, contact details, ticket prices, directions, etc.) at the
ProgDay 2000 website.

2001 - Sweden & South America?
At the time of writing it is unconfirmed, but sometime in 2001, Landmarq are looking at the possibility of playing in Sweden and also South America, specifically Chile and Argentina. (And anywhere else that will have them!).
More details as we have them....

'Solitary' & 'Infinity'...

The first two Landmarq albums, 'Solitary Witness' and 'Infinity Parade', will be released soon on Synergy Records. The track "Borrowed Mind" will be included on 'Infinity Parade'. This was originally included as a bonus track on the Japanese issue of this album; it was also included on the now deleted second SI Records compilation album, "SI Compilation Disc Too", released in 1993. Both album covers have also been re-designed.
A release date has still to be scheduled.
