Borderlines
The Landmarq On-line Newsletter

March/April 2000

Welcome...

As we write this, the 2nd of this years 'Borderlines', it seems almost unbelievable that we are already over a third of the way into the year.
So with that, we'll just get on with it - but not before extending a warm welcome to new subscribers to the
LENL newsletter and indeed to new fans and friends who have 'found' Landmarq since the last issue.

Live album part 2...

All things going to plan, the second part of the live album should be released later in the year. The reason for the delay is that it is hoped to add some special bonus tracks. These may include one or two brand new Landmarq songs and/or possibly some acoustic re-workings of existing material.

 Tour News...

Milan, Italy (July)
Another new territory for Landmarq to play is Milan in Italy. The gig is set for Saturday 1st July, although at the time of writing, the venue had yet to be confirmed. Also on the bill will be Jadis and The Cast.
The actual concert has been organised by ASSOCIAZIONE CULTURALE AREA ROCK who are based in Milan and are working hard to promote Landmarq and Prog-rock in general in Italy. This is an open-air event and they are expecting around 2,000 people.

Whitchurch, UK (August)
Landmarq will also be appearing on Saturday 5th August at the Whitchurch Festival 2000. This well-known UK prog-fest will be held over the weekend of the 4th/5th/6th of August. The venue is the Testbourne Centre, Whitchurch, Hampshire, England.
The band will play a rare acoustic set and are currently reviewing their song catalogue for appropriate material. Other artists/bands set to appear include our old mate Martin Orford and others (Friday 4th); IQ, Gnidrolog, The Cardiacs and others (Saturday 5th), The Groundhogs, Mungo Jerry, Arena and others (Sunday 6th).
Full details can be found at the
Whitchurch 2000 website.

ProgDay, USA (October)
At last, Landmarq will be making it's way across the 'Big Pond' to the USofA to perform at the only outdoor Progressive rock festival in North America - otherwise known as ProgDay 2000.
So far, we can tell you that this will be the weekend of 7th/8th October with Landmarq performing at some point on the Saturday.
The venue is called 'Storybook Farm' and is set amidst the beautiful greenery of North Carolina in what is a true idyllic setting. It promises to be a weekend of great fun and great music. The festival is the idea of (and mainly organised by) it's 'benevolent benefactor' Peter Renfro.
You will find further info (full line-up, ticket prices, directions, etc.) at the
ProgDay 2000 website.

Gothenberg, Sweden (November/December?)
At the time of writing it is unconfirmed, but Landmarq are looking at the possibility of playing in Sweden.
This has been proposed by the Swedish Progressive rock society called GARF and they are looking around the end of November, beginning of December (definitely a thermal underwear job, eh!?).
More details as we have them....

First Two CDs To Be Re-issued...

If all things go to plan, we should also be on course, later in the year, to finally re-issue the first two Landmarq albums, 'Solitary Witness' and 'Infinity Parade'. The CDs will undergo some re-packaging and be released on Synergy Records. This has come about due to the regular number of enquiries that have been received from people from all over, asking where these early albums can be obtained. Dave wagstaff, who runs Landmarq's Synergy label, said "the intention was always there to put these two albums out again, though we had to be sure there was at least a minimal demand for them. That would certainly seem to be the case now and we feel the time is now right to begin the process".
No other details are available at the moment but this is definitely one to watch.
